The Philippines has its own myth about Creation- Malakas and Maganda (literally, The Strong One and The Beautiful One) are the Filipino versions of the Biblical Adam and Eve. They are said to have sprung from a large bamboo that was pecked open by the legendary bird Sarimanok known as Magaul.
